Health Partners International of Canada is a not-for-profit relief and development organization that works through partnerships to increase access to medicine and improve health in the developing world.

Millions of people around the world suffer and die unnecessarily from preventable and treatable diseases because there is no medicine. In response to the needs on the ground, HPIC requests and receives donations of medicine, vaccines and medical supplies from Canadian healthcare companies. HPIC then provides medical aid through Canadian doctors, aid organizations and government agencies to impoverished communities and countries for emergency relief and community development.

In certain situations, HPIC works with local Ministries of Health to help enhance community and country capacity to provide healthcare services by improving procurement and distribution processes, enhancing medical facilities and equipment, and supporting the training of local healthcare professionals.

The work of HPIC is highly effective because of the strength of its partnerships. These include the healthcare companies who donate the product, governments and bilateral agencies that cooperate in capacity-building, the Canadian and local NGOs and healthcare professionals who administer the medical aid and advance community development, and the donors who provide the funding that makes the healing possible.
