Our Standards and Networks

Imagine Canada

HPIC is among a select group of charities in Canada to have received accreditation from Imagine Canada’s Standards Program.

HPIC demonstrates excellence in five areas of operations: board governance, financial accountability and transparency, fundraising, staff management, and volunteer involvement, according to Imagine Canada.

As of Nov. 25, 2014, only 126 registered charities in Canada, out of a total of more than 80,000, had met the stringent requirements.

World Health Organization’s Guidelines for Medicine Donations

HPIC endorses the WHO’s Guidelines for medicine donations. HPIC has worked in partnership with the WHO, the directing and coordinating authority for health within the United Nations system.

Health Canada Establishment Licence

HPIC’s Establishment Licence from Health Canada guarantees that HPIC treats products with the same diligence and care as the manufacturer.

Rx&D

Rx&D is a founding donor of HPIC and remains a significant partner and mobilizing force for our mission. Rx&D represents many of our major donors. Rx&D, Canada’s Research-Based Pharmaceutical Companies, is the national association representing the men and women who work for 50 research-based pharmaceutical companies in Canada.

CGPA

The Canadian Generic Pharmaceutical Association of Canada (CGPA) has been an important partner in our mission for 10 years and represents some of HPIC’s biggest donors. The CGPA represents the Canadian-based generic pharmaceutical industry: a dynamic group of companies which specialize in the production of high quality, affordable generic drugs, fine chemicals and new chemical entities.

CHPC

HPIC has had the support of Consumer Health Products Canada and several members from our earliest days. CHPC is the national industry association representing manufacturers, marketers, and distributors of consumer health products (which includes over-the-counter medications and natural health products).

MEDEC

MEDEC, the national association of the Canadian medical technology industry, and several of its members are donors to HPIC. MEDEC is the primary source for advocacy, information and education on the medical technology industry for members, the greater healthcare community, industry partners and the general public.

CCRDA

HPIC is a member of the CCRDA. The Canadian Christian Relief and Development Association is a group of Christian agencies who are dedicated to excellence in the practice of their charitable work.

CCCC

HPIC is a member of the Canadian Council of Christian Charities.
