healing a hurting world

The Jake Epp Mission Development Fund was launched to provide resources for HPIC to enhance the depth, breadth and quality of our mission of increasing access to medicine and improving health in the developing world, with a special focus on women and children.

Historically, HPIC has been working with Canadian healthcare companies to facilitate the delivery of medicines according to the expressed needs of our partners on the ground.  After 21 years and more than $375 million of medicines, medical supplies and vaccines shipped to over 110 countries, HPIC continues to consult with Ministries of Public Health and NGOs to evaluate the changing needs in diverse areas of the developing world.

This ongoing dialogue has resulted in a significant opportunity for HPIC to focus on emergency relief according to new global standards, and to develop programs that will provide sustainable health care solutions.

As HPIC delivers more targeted relief, the challenge that remains is to secure the necessary resources to assist us, so that together with our partners, we can make the greatest impact and a lasting difference in the lives of people, communities and nations.

“The naming of the fund recognizes the outstanding contribution HPIC’s Chair Emeritus, the Honourable Jake Epp, has made to our mission of bringing healing to a hurting world,” says HPIC President, Glen Shepherd.
