PTPPhysician Travel Pack

Each year hundreds of Canadian health-care professionals and other humanitarians take part in short-term medical missions. PTPs are carried by people working in a variety of situations, such as a Canadian doctor practicing in a remote part of Brazil for two weeks or a larger Canadian team heading to Kenya for two months.

HPIC fills a unique role as a charitable medical aid agency. We work on behalf of Canada's health-care industry to provide the highest quality in-date products for use in developing countries where the needs are great.

What is the PTP? It's an assortment of essential medicines and medical supplies that can treat up to 1,000 children and adults. The PTP contains the primary care medical products most requested by Canadian doctors. In fact, the PTP was designed by Canadian doctors who have experience working in rudimentary conditions.

In 1994 HPIC assembled and distributed its first PTP. Since that time the growth of the program has been staggering – from five PTP's in 1994 to 640 in 2006.

The PTP consists of two boxes that contain about $5,000 (wholesale value) worth of donated Canadian products. You can request a PTP by applying online. If your application is approved, we'll ship it to your Canadian address, eliminating hours of searching for the right products yourself.

HPIC is proud to say that each PTP is packed with care by a team of faithful volunteers.
