The Humanitarian Medical Kit for dental care supports dentists who volunteer their time and skills to help people who do not have access to dental treatment around the world. Each year, HPIC receives enough donations of dental products to offer up to 100 kits, which are donated to partners on a first-come, first-served basis. One dental kit provides treatment for up to 200 patients, including 60 tooth extractions.
The dental pack is designed to meet three specific purposes:
- Pain management
- Tooth extractions
- Temporary restorative fillings
The contents of the pack include the fundamental products necessary to meet all of these objectives. The HMK-D contains an assortment of antibiotics, topical and local anesthetics, anti-inflammatories, gelfoam, dental refills, and supplies such as syringes, needles, gauze, sponges, masks, cotton rolls, gloves, floss, sutures, toothbrushes and other dental supplies.
