Volunteer

IMPORTANT CHANGES TO OUR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM: HPIC is a small organization, offering volunteering opportunities for community and corporate groups, once every month. Dates for 2023 have been pre-set to the last Tuesday of the month.
With the overwhelming amount of requests for volunteering at our Oakville Distribution Centre, our team will do its best to handle requests and schedule groups for volunteering. At this time HPIC will offer one volunteer opportunity per group/organization for this year. We also ask all volunteers to make it part of their contribution onsite by also support our everyday work with a financial donation. Every $10 we receive will help mobilize and deliver $100 in medicines to 37 countries this year and allow HPIC operation, including volunteer experiences to remain active.
Due to the extremely high number of requests for volunteering, we want to inform everyone we are fully booked until Fall 2023. We will open additional volunteering dates, based on the needs of our organization and medical shipments departing. Thank you to everyone for their support of our mission and interest in volunteering at HPIC, Oakville.
Volunteers are the heart of HPIC.
The team at HPIC is grateful for our volunteers. If you are interested in a volunteering opportunity at our Oakville Distribution Centre, please fill out the Volunteer Application form below. We will get back to you within 2-3 business days with options or notification that your request has been placed in our wait list. Please note we are fully booked until the end of June.
From corporate teams to community groups to family and friends, HPIC’s volunteers are the fuel that keeps our mission going.
HPIC is always looking for help to pack Humanitarian Medical Kits. These kits equip travelling physicians and missions teams with the medicine and supplies they need to provide vital healthcare in vulnerable communities around the world in 30 countries.
What does volunteering at HPIC looks like? We offer an impactful experience for groups of up to 20 people. Shifts typically start at 9 AM and end at 1 PM. We include an educational presentation about what HPIC is doing around the world, medical aid packing, HPIC Trivia and our Virtual Reality Experience. Some groups can choose to cater and have lunch onsite. We will gladly set up for you!
HPIC is doing the best to keep everyone safe.
We cannot 100% guarantee your health and safety at our Headquarters in Montreal or at our Distribution Centre in Oakville or in any mission-related event or activity. While we will not be checking the vaccination status of our visitors, we do encourage them to ensure that their vaccinations are up to date. We also respectfully ask that our visitors do their best to follow the health and safety precautions noted below:
- If you have felt sick, or have been recently exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, please take a rapid antigen test before attending any of our facilities
- Where and when possible, maintain an appropriate distance from others while inside our facilities
- Keep high risk individuals safe by wearing a mask while inside our facilities
- We ask that you sanitize your hands upon arrival or practice frequent hand washing
- We ask that you cover coughs and sneezes
Our team at HPIC will continue to follow provincial mandated health orders. Together, we will do everything we can to make all interactions positive and safe for everyone.
“Give the gift of health and hope by donating your time.”
The HPIC volunteer experience includes groups of up to 20 people per shift. This is the perfect team-building opportunity where action packed fun will save the lives of our most vulnerable neighbours.
