Partnering with NGOs: Liberia

Korle-Bu Neuroscience Foundation (KBNF) is a Canadian non-profit that has been performing neurosurgeries in West Africa for over 22 years.

During previous missions, they noticed a high rate of infections after patients were discharged. This is where HPIC stepped in! On KBNF’s recent mission to Liberia, HPIC provided pain medication and antibiotics for post-surgery recovery.

One of the team members shared with us:

“In Canada we oftentimes take our healthcare for granted and to see people in Liberia struggle to afford or have access to basic healthcare is heartbreaking. This is why I am so proud to work for KBNF and partners like HPIC to help narrow the gap and create more equal access to healthcare. When we are able to align our missions and vision and find partners to come alongside us, we can have a larger impact in the care we can give or the amount of people we’re able to help. By joining forces, we are able to make a larger impact than by working by ourselves.”

We are so grateful for partners like KBNF who are the hands and feet of our mission! Together, we are bringing Health and Hope to those who need it most.
