Collaborating for Change: Lebanon

In its second year, the NeoLife Project continues to make an impact for premature babies and their families.

The NeoLife Project continues to support the unique medical needs of premature babies through our partnership with American Near East Refugee Aid (ANERA).

Head ICU and NICU nurse at Karantina Public Hospital shares about the impact of this collaborative project:

“Premature births are on the rise in Lebanon, often due to mothers not receiving adequate medical attention during pregnancy, leading to higher rates of infections and premature or infected newborns. Essential medications like ampicillin and penicillin, which are unavailable in Lebanon, are critical for treating infections in premature and newborn babies. These donations directly contribute to reducing mortality rates among infants, allowing more babies to go home healthy with their parents.”

The partnership between ANERA and HPIC is a testament to how collaboration can strengthen healthcare systems and impact communities. We are grateful for each and every healthcare worker on the ground who is working tirelessly to ensure that HPIC’s donated medicines and supplies are utilized to save the lives of vulnerable babies. In a place where fear and uncertainty abound, the NeoLife Project is bringing hope.
