Health Partners International of Canada (HPIC) has launched an urgent appeal to help deliver life-saving medicine to families in Lebanon amid a rapidly worsening humanitarian crisis. Renewed conflict in the south, mass displacement, widespread infrastructure damage, and a fragile economy have left millions without access to essential medical treatments.
In response, HPIC is working closely with its long-time, trusted partners in Lebanon to ensure that critical medicines reach communities in crisis. The organization has already received an overwhelming response from pharmaceutical and medical supply partners following its emergency call for donations.
“Our recent call for emergency medical donations has resulted in an overwhelming response from our pharmaceutical and medical supply partners,” said HPIC President Lois Brown. “Over $2 million worth of medicine has been received, with more coming in each day.”
While the medicines are ready to be deployed, HPIC urgently needs to raise $200,000 to cover the costs of storing, processing, transporting, and distributing these essential supplies. The organization relies on the generosity of foundations, private individuals and community groups to ensure that medicines reach those who need them most—often under extremely challenging conditions and through complex customs processes.
“Families in Lebanon are desperately waiting for these life-saving medicines,” said Ms. Brown. “We are appealing to the community to help us raise the $200,000 needed to deliver these medicines as soon as possible.”
Every $10 donated enables HPIC to deliver $100 worth of essential medicine, including analgesics, antibiotics, antihistamines, antifungals, and cardiovascular treatments, to people in urgent need.Tax-deductible donations can be made securely online at www.hpicanada.ca. Contributions will help ensure that families in Lebanon receive the medical care they desperately need during this critical time.
